How do I "trigger" the jump scare and triggerable scenes?

AtmosFX Digital Decorations are created for a variety of different environments and styles of decorating. Each collection has its own set of features that allow you to pull off unique decorating special effects.

One of these special features we offer are “startle scare” decorations which use triggers to create jump scares.

Trigger effects with AtmosFX DVDs

If you are using one of our DVD products, it's as simple as navigating to the "trigger" scene and hitting the play button on your remote. After the scene plays, the animation will pause until you hit the play button again.

Here is a list of AtmosFX Digital Decorations on DVD that feature a convenient “trigger mode” to create some frightening startle scares.

To trigger a startle scare on a DVD player, you trigger the effect by pressing the "Play" or "Enter" button on your DVD remote control. To trigger the startle scare on a computer, using the DVD-Rom drive, you trigger the effect by pressing the "Enter" or "Return" button on your keyboard.

Trigger effects with AtmosFX Digital Downloads and SD cards

Select the decoration you want and keep the video paused, then hit the play to trigger the decoration. On a computer, most video software uses the space bar as a play/pause button.

All AtmosFX DVDs listed above are also available in digital download format. Each collection includes "buffer" files included in the digital download folders that will allow you to set up your own triggerable events using your personal decorating tools.

You can also find some great startle scares in the  Trick 'r Treat collection, which is only available in digital download format.

Can I create a setup where the digital decoration is triggered by a button or switch?

Triggering a decoration using a button or switch is a very cool but potentially pricey effect.

There is special equipment on the market to accomplish this effect which is utilized by many technically advanced and professional haunters.

If you are interested in this type of display, we recommend searching haunt and home haunter forums for a "triggerable media player" to find a solution.
